ICE started operating in the late 90’s as a specialist consultancy assisting clients in defining technology architecture, system design and software development activities. The CEO, Stuart Campbell conceptualised ICE as a visionary software company, instrumental in shaping up technology, visions, solutions and policies.
Despite being a relatively small enterprise of highly skilled individuals, ICE is an active and leading member of several consortiums researching and developing ground-breaking software solutions under H2020 projects program by the EU.
ICE’s environment can be classed as ‘cosy and homely’. As with most SMEs, we started in the room of the founder’s house and grew from there. The only difference is we are now 30 people and still in the house with most of the house converted! The office is located on a quiet country road in the village of Haslington, near Crewe and is an easy commute from the M6 (Junction 16/17) and Crewe railway station.
We are a bunch of fun-loving and enthusiastic individuals. The Directors and Project Managers are approachable and always encouraging everyone to present ideas and experiment with the technologies at hand. There are plenty of other activities like Office BBQs, ICE Fest, Social Events and Competitions to keep you engaged and interested.
After spending some time with us and proving your mettle, you can work up to 3 days a week from home. This allows team members to work in their home environment without any office distractions. It saves your commuting times and is also easy on your pocket.
The software development industry is subject to, and must respond to rapid changes. As a software house, ICE recognise the importance of learning and education to be in sync with these changes. We encourage you to learn new technologies and languages and through R&D project participation you will be working in state-of-the-art areas. Moreover, ICE conducts bi-weekly internal seminars to share knowledge among the team members.
ICE operates with a subsidised lunch policy and team members working in the office on Monday & Tuesday are treated with subsidised lunch. There is a kitchen at your disposal to prepare your own lunches and drinks. There is also fruit for those who are healthy and plenty of sweets, biscuits and cakes for those who are not!
We take you future seriously. Once employed, you will be enrolled into the NEST pension scheme. There would be a small part of your monthly salary, that will be deposited in your private pension pot and we will make contributions as the employer.
Whether you want to be in the scheme or not, the decision lies with you. We will guide and assist you, so that you can make an informed decision about your retirement.
ICE is immersed in the Christmas spirit during the festive period. Stuart Campbell (CEO) is an ardent fan of Christmas so you will find the office in its full Christmas glory. Also, there is a yearly Christmas Competition, where team members get a chance to win a luxurious holiday (All inclusive) package to Calpe, Spain. The package includes Extra holidays, accommodation in the ICE villa in the resort and spending money.
